David Kuhr serves as Compliance Consultant for Strategic Wealth Partners, where he works closely with the firm’s compliance department and leadership team to support regulatory oversight, develop policies and procedures, and help ensure the firm maintains the highest standards of client service and industry compliance.

With more than 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, David brings extensive expertise in compliance, operations, and regulatory oversight. He has served as a compliance consultant since 2004 and founded Green Bar Consulting in 2011, where he has advised more than 60 financial firms. Throughout his career, David has held Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Compliance roles for broker-dealers, investment advisory firms, and mutual fund companies. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Compliance Examiner with the National Association of Securities Dealers (now FINRA), giving him a unique perspective on regulatory compliance from both the industry and regulatory sides.

David is passionate about building strong compliance cultures and believes compliance is a shared responsibility across an organization. Known for his practical, solutions-oriented approach, he focuses on identifying risks proactively, providing meaningful guidance, and helping firms navigate complex regulatory requirements while continuing to deliver exceptional service to clients.

David earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Kent State University and is a commissioned Notary Public in the State of Ohio.

Outside of work, David enjoys golfing, theater, landscaping projects, and serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster for a local Scout troop. He and his wife, Michele, have been married for more than 37 years and have three adult children. During the holidays, David and his family are known for baking an impressive assortment of homemade cookies and treats, often totaling more than 100 dozen each year.
